Chris has joined Myo at a critical moment in our development, he is a leading authority on brand development and design management. A writer and designer of considerable ability, he has broad and direct experience of working with some of the UK’s most prominent brands. As Head of Information Design and Environmental Design, Chris was the director of BT’s brand through the period of privatisation of the telecoms market. He then went on to redirect the British Library through its period of consolidation and the move into its new building on the Euston Road in London.
Chris has been an independent consultant since 1990 providing brand development, design strategy, content development and related consultancy to companies like Royal Mail, the NHS, British Telecom, The United Nations, The Science Museum, Samsung, Motorola, and others.
He is currently writing on the brand as narrative and has developed a practical and sophisticated system of strategic thinking called Narrative Intelligence, a sister concept to emotional intelligence. Perceptive, articulate and a passionate collaborator, Chris is able to apply the benefits of high level brand leadership in ways immediately beneficial to smaller companies.
In 1995 he formed Bourne Consulting with his sister, Celia, an international trainer and coach. This is a strategic development practice which sits alongside his primary consulting company. Bourne Consulting has successfully researched and implemented innovative approaches to combine both the designed brand and organisational development work with HR training and development, often involving original processes designed to foster creativity and innovation in fairly unlikely organisations.
